Fantasy-like Park Adventure
The park run today was so beautiful it felt like a fantasy. I can’t even describe the colors or the feeling of them interacting with my bodythey seem too vivid and otherworldly to put into words. The autumn cityscape and farmland looked like the sky was simply dumping colorful candy wrappers straight onto the ground, reaching all the way down to earth in an ocean of hues. The lakes acted almost like mirrors, reflecting those wrappers both inside and out, making everything seem so spontaneous and freeas if all thoughts were unnecessary and everything just perfectly laid out on a golden sunlit battlefield.
Here there was no thought; every visual element burned with intensity. I don’t even know how to begin expressing how insignificant my own pain seemed in comparison. I’m really just one tiny wrapper, floating serenely on the surface of an otherwise featureless lake like a single drop among millions. Closed your eyes and walked for a while, opened them againnothing had changed. Tiredness creeps in, almost pushing me to sleep as I wander through this endless expanse of fall colors. The squinted vision from the bright sun is a little raw, but the cool breeze serves as a constant reminder that autumn is here.
The park wasn’t badit had miles and miles of perfectly manicured grasses, all so neatly arranged it was almost too artificial to be beautiful. But after walking for a while, you start to realize there’s really nothing new beyond this point. The same mountainside, same fields, same lakenothing changes. You close your eyes for a bit, but when you open them again, everything looks the same. Tired and a little achey from the constant exertion of walking uphill all day, I nearly doze off on the spot.
I felt my head pounding as I walked along the path, the wind off my back bringing with it an odd, metallic tang. The air was cool but still crisp enough to keep me from getting too comfortable in my sleeping bag. The rustle of leaves and grass beneath my feet made a strange, scratchy sound that sent shivers down my spine. I swear this place gives me a headache just for walking through itno wonder they built a sign saying it’s best not to take anything with you when you leave!
The forest vibe was strong from the get-go. It wasn’t like any other park I’ve ever been toit had something about it that felt… a bit more alive, almost like it was watching you as you passed by. The trees were so tall and spread out, but somehow they still managed to make me feel smallsuper tiny compared to everything else out there in this endless expanse of forest. When I stopped walking for just a few moments, the rustling of leaves behind me made my head spin.
As I continued on with the hike, I couldn’t help but think just how much time I’ve wasted getting lost in all these beautiful placesplaces where I should have been doing something productive instead of just floating along. It wasn’t until later that I realized I was so far from my usual routine that it felt like I had just wandered off into some kind of alternate reality.
But then again, maybe that’s how it’s supposed to be. Maybe I’m supposed to get lost in these beautiful moments where time stands still and all you can do is sit back and enjoy the ride.
